Perhaps the best way to determine your skin type is to see how it fares when you leave it bare for around 30 minutes. Double cleanse your face with a very gentle cleanser, pat it dry, and don't apply any other products - including moisturiser! How it feels after 30 minutes will help you to determine your skin type. THE SKIN TYPES...

DRY

If your face feels tight or uncomfortable or you can see flaky patches after 30 minutes, your skin is probably dry. Dry skin needs lots of hydration from serums and moisturisers, and will also benefit from the use of a cream cleanser that doesn't foam, as bubbles tend to dry out the skin

OILY

If your face has excess shine or feels greasy to the touch after 30 minutes, you probably have oily skin. A good face primer, applied after your skincare but before your makeup, will also help to control shine
