Know your season? Find your colour tone!
At Look Fabulous Forever we believe that some colours look better on you than others, depending if you are Warm, Cool or Neutral Toned. Therefore, all of our colour makeup is split into these categories so it’s easy to tell what products will suit you best.
Colour analysis became wildly popular in the 1980s when Carole Jackson wrote the book “Color Me Beautiful” in which she suggests that all women can find the perfect shades for them within the four ‘seasons’.
Often our customers come to us and say that they have previously had their colours done, and know that they are ‘Autumn, Winter, Spring or Summer’. They often then wish to know which of our products would suit them best. So, we have pulled together this guide to help…
Before you begin, you first need to identify yourself as either Warm or Cool toned. We have a ‘Colour Quiz’ which will help you determine your skin tone by answering a few questions, you can find it HERE.
Once you have identified yourself as either Warm or Cool you can then match it with your season. Warm people are either Spring or Autumn, and Cool people are Summer or Winter. The only task left is to determine whether you are ‘light’ or ‘deep’. If your hair is blonde, light brown or red, you are ‘light’. If your hair is brunette, dark red or black, you are ‘deep’.
If you are Cool and Light then you are a Summer
If you are Cool and Deep then you are a Winter
If you are Warm and Light then you are a Spring
If you are Warm and Deep then you are an Autumn
You might notice that if you are a Warm toned season (Spring or Autumn), that as you go grey your hair retains a slightly warm, creamy tone. Whereas the Cool toned seasons (Summer and Winter) tend to naturally veer towards a much steelier grey, or pure white.
