I can remember very clearly when I was around 40, reading an article about how many pitfalls there were for older women when it came to makeup. The tone of the article was condescending and patronising.

Loved everything about this! I was tickled that Denise Harper was in this winning group! I know she inspired so many of us with her story and she’s beautiful before, during, and after! Thanks to the judges...what a challenging assignment.

Congratulations on being chosen by Julia, Denise - your makeup looked beautiful and (as the feedback you received on Super Troopers) few would have guessed that you have alopecia. Tx

Hi Pam
Not sure that there is a definitive answer to this. Maybe do one eye with and one without and compare them. Which looks best? That way you can make the right decision for your particular eye shape. Tx

I thought all the ladies looked amazing. I love bright lipstick as it brightens my face against grey hair(desperately needing cut)! It just shows me what we’ll applied makeup can do.

I would not have wanted to choose the winners for this competition. This was so uplifting to see the transformation a little makeup can have.

I think the ladies in the 'final' all look fabulous. Julia did a wonderful job of choosing, but also in the way she described how they all went too.
Just a question re eye makeup from me: I've been doing this for many years now, as someone told me once it helped make your eyes appear bigger ~ I put a colour (either blue, teal or green) on bottom lid where the lashes are, but only from outer edge to half way mark. My question is as I'm now much older: would it still help my eyes look a little larger or not? I have slightly hooded eyes, although sometimes they don't seem so (go figure!) so have never ventured into shadows on the top lid. Just wondering???
Thanks for the competitions to get us 'out of our comfort zone' or 'doing something different', Tricia, all wonderful fun, not that I went in many, it is fun to look on sometimes too. :)

That's such a shame. I was waiting for my sister from Australia to visit this Summer before we both had our faces done at your store in Guildford. Please, please do reopen when you can. And in the meantime, perhaps consider a consultation service where we send an unmade-up photo of ourselves (with problem areas highlighted) for you to advise on best products. Otherwise, it's difficult to know where to start!

I absolutely LOVE these transformations,. Yes, it's the makeup, but it's also the way the makeup obviously makes them feel about themselves - confident and beautiful!! What a great blog.

Congratulations to all those ladies who came out in the top ten, and to everyone else who took part. I thought Julia Biddlecombe did a wonderful job, plus explaining why she'd chosen that particular person was very helpful too.
Thank you Tricia for all your help in making us all feel better about ourselves. Just what we all need as our bodies start to go, or have gone, south!!

I think the 10 winners of this competition are a wonderful example and truly deserve to win. However, every woman who took part in the contest was brave and amazing to me. I confess I took before and after pictures of myself to enter but chickened out before posting! Well done Troopers

Really pleased for all the winners and I think the competition brought so many of us out of our comfort zone and made us realise it is ok to
spend time making the best of ourselves. Personally, it gave me an opportunity to post a selfie, without worrying about what friends and family might say. Knowing all posts are kindly received is wonderful and I, for one, am so grateful to you, Tricia, for everything you do for us all.

Much as I would love to join Super Troupers, I simply don't 'do' social media and in fact keep all tech use to an absolute minimum. I hate it !! Proper dinosaur !
But I do watch all the Tea at Ritz videos and all other emails, info, tutorials etc. They are so useful and I love
LFF products.
Thank you

It is so refreshing to see “real” women in the before and after photos. It makes a welcome change from looking at photos of celebs with all their botoxed and surgically “enhanced” faces! Love the Tea at the Ritz videos too! Thanks Trisha xx

During lockdown I have really enjoyed watching your videos. I always thought it was supposed to be less is more with makeup as you got older and haven't used blusher for years and wouldn't have known what to do with highlighter! My birthday is coming up and my daughters were so shocked when I asked for make up brushes and hi lighter, my youngest told her friends at work she thought her mom was having a affair so your videos have been educating me about applying makeup. The before and after competition was brilliant. Some terrific make overs. Well done to all who entered.

Congratulations to all the winners, we were all winners really, as I'm sure we all enjoyed the fun of taking part, and being brave enough to put our 'bare' face out there. Thank you Tricia for all your videos, and all the competitions for us during these challenging times. I can't imagine what it would have been like without Super Troopers. I know it has kept me going and given me focus. When I tell my daughter what we have been up to on Super Troopers, she says "Thank goodness for Tricia". She knows how good it has been for me, and loves to hear about it. I hope we carry on for a long time yet.

Congratulations to the 10 beautiful Prize Winning Finalists! You are inspirational, and so brave, braver than me! Congratulations too, to the other 190+ competitors, who are winners too! You should all be on the front cover of Vogue. Thank you Tricia, for organising this. You have shown us that we can be our own make up artists, and have given us the confidence to show ourselves in a new light. I remember my grandmother saying that only 'scarlet' women wore lipstick. When I asked what she meant by 'scarlet', she said that they were 'fallen', and I took this to mean they were prostitutes. You will be glad to hear that 'Fuchsia' is currently my favourite colour lipstick, and no, I am not 'working the streets'!

Like LFF make up and skincare, Tricia's blogs and her Super Troopers Facebook group have been an uplifting, beautifying and fun participative experience. How good it has been to look forward to Tea at the Ritz and the visits to her Beauty Salon during these dark and uncertain times. How lovely to experience all these 'ladies of a certain age' egging each other on, revealing their gorgeous gardens, amazing painting skills, talents of all types, and their kind and loving words to others going through grief... not to mention their salmon recipes! Tricia, not only are you an awesome business woman, but you have brought together an international community of older women who feel safe and relaxed in each other's company. You are so much more than your business. May you and all your followers Look Fabulous Forever. Thank you.

I would like to say how totally surprised i am to have been chosen for the Dare to Bare Challenge. I hadn’t really thought of entering when I posted my pictures, I was responding to the challenge put down by one of the Super Troupers.
There was a time, before I retired when I would never go out without my face on, sadly, since then I’ve let myself get out of the habit. It was only when I discovered your products and watched your videos that I realised it was time I put that face back on. Unfortunately, now I have had challenges to overcome having lost my hair, eyebrows and lashes but it just goes to show with a bit of clever make-up people probably won’t even notice. I feel my confidence has grown enormously
Thank you Tricia for the inspiration and your wonderful products.
I just need to invest in more earrings and scarves

I cannot begin to tell you how much your videos have meant to me during lockdown, living on my own with no near neighbours. I watched every single one of them and I have been amazed how you not only found different topics for each day of the week but also made them so interesting and encouraging. Now that the online sessions are understandably winding down I realise just how much focus they gave to the week (you Gareth Malone and Joe Wicks in my case!)
In one of your videos you mentioned that it was easy to go into lockdown but much harder to come out of it – a thought I wholeheartedly concur with as we begin to adjust to the new normal, something that is likely to continue for a very long time.
As I don’t subscribe to Face Book II was delighted when you had put the Zoom interview with Mags of Toolally on YouTube. I shall continue to look forward to the weekly videos for as long as you feel able to continue with them.

Hi Sandra - Just to let you know that we have closed both stores for the foreseeable future and doubt that they will reopen for very many months - if at all. We cannot see a way to offer makeovers safely as all safeguards are impossible when you are applying makeup to women's faces. We also doubt that many of our customers will want to use public transport to travel to Wimbledon and Guildford. Hope you understand why we have made this decision. We support all our customers to buy online with our excellent customer services department, all the information we provide on our website and with our very generous returns policy. Tx

Hi Tricia, Loved Friday’s make up! This is just to let you know that I admire so much what you have done during lockdown. Lifted your spirits & lots of lovely ladies too. However I have left the Facebook group as it was overwhelming my feed. I will continue to watch your videos & blogs & buy the make up too!

Your summer make up tute was amazing. I did the colours and boy was I pleased. The eye colours made the colours of my eyes pop and where I would have gone for a light lip before bright colour now. What a difference. You are a star

Great challenge for all of us! Deserved winners! Congratulations to all those ladies. I bet they feel “chuffed” Thanks Tricia for your expert input.....I bet managing the activities etc of this group, have proved to be requiring more of your time than LFF!!

Great choice of winners by Julia. All beautiful and beautifully made-up. Well done ladies. For me I’d love tips on what I can do better as I still feel I don’t get it right. Maybe one day LFF will have a roadshow in Edinburgh. I thought your summer look this week was lovely Tricia.

Hi Tricia why dont you approach a womens mag with our mAkeover pictures and see what they would say about a feature. In thses difficult times when many are losing their jobs the silver / retired pound is the only stable buyers group left. Looking at the supertroopers and the kettlewell group it's obvious that we can shop and spend.

Truly stunning makeovers - going from great to Fabulous! It’s amazing that just a little LFF product and tutorials enhance the natural beauty of these gorgeous women. Not only does LFF erase years and tiredness of life; it gives a ‘pop of Confidence’ to women to claim their right to be active in their surroundings. No wallflowers here!

All the ladies look amazing. I have really enjoyed all the tea time at the Ritz sessions and found your make up tutorials so practical and user friendly. I choose not to be on face book as i don't like the platform but i still enjoyed being able to catch up with the Toolally interview. I'm also currently reading the fascinating telomere effect that you mentioned. Please keep the great content coming. Careful Tricia, you are in danger of coming into the 'national treasure ' category!

I really enjoyed seeing everyone’s before and after photos on Facebook. They all looked amazing! It just shows what a bit of colour on your face can do! What I particularly liked was the look of confidence that all the ‘after’ photos exuded! Congratulations to your winners, and to everyone who was brave enough to post the before photos!!

Lovely - but I find it difficult to chose the right colours so will wait until the store in Guildford reopens and make my selection there. I do have the brow shaper (never had eyebrows before so this is quite wonderful) and face primer and pleased with them.

Congratulations to the 10 deserving winners. Your makeup skills were amazing and the looks you achieved were just beautiful. We have all learned so much from you Tricia and now know how to present our best selves at home and when we venture out. What amazing master classes we have had.

Great to see these ladies as winners! I followed all the entries with interest and agree totally with the judging. I know that for some entrants it was out of their comfort zone to submit their 'before' photos, so my congratulations to all the winners and all the entrants!

These pictures are truly inspirational and really do show what makeup can do. Well done all those ladies who were brave enough to show themselves before and after, they look really lovely and thank you Tricia for all your great chats and videos and thoughts and humour! Like some others I am a slightly reticent Super Trooper partly because I am new to social media and wary of it. However, I do catch up one way or another and love the feel of this wonderful and diverse group that is growing. It is giving older women greater confidence and a sense of worth and that’s a great gift for them to receive.
Many thanks

This made me laugh. I remember reading an article with a similar patronising tone about how women over 25 shouldn't wear short skirts. I thought good grief no, such old bags should stay covered up, then realised that I was 25 myself and no way considered myself an old bag. There are odd disconnects in our thinking! At the time I was pregnant and wearing a mini. I'm 75 now and still not an old bag in my opinion.

Tricia, you are an inspiration. At nearly 70 I felt the same as you re. vulnerability etc at lockdown but decided with other friends I wasn't going to allow myself to become vulnerable. However, I am noticing lots of older ladies in our WI group have become quite affected mentally by the lockdown. Much of this brought on by their children frightening them into never leaving the house etc All for the best intentions but it's now becoming clear many ladies will struggle to go out shopping etc again!
Love your videos and think you are doing a really positive thing in raising the profile of us mature ladies who still intend to enjoy makeup, life and clothes!

Just like to say, l was one of the lucky ones to take part in Zoom l know there were a few hiccups, and l'm not suprised given the amount of people wanting to join,it was worth it, great to hear the background of how Mags started Toolally. Also congratulations to the lovely winning ladies of the make-up comp. And having an expert giving her valid comments to each lady. How lucky were they. Of course this is all down to Tricia, and l for one am so glad l found her. I am 65 have always worn make-up, but not really understanding how to apply it. I have no idea if l am cool or warm? I have read Tricia's book and watched the videos which has made me want to learn more, in fact when l think back l really wasn't looking forward to my 3rd chapter. How things have changed. I can't wait to get started. As for the awful lock down something new and positive has come out of it. ME!

Loved all the before and after…..obviously all are winners. I also love LFF make-up as it is perfect for a lighter look application which I found hard to achieve with other make-up. Proof? I Zoom meet with a friend weekly and last week she asked me for the name of my make-up because my skin looked so beautiful! I can't recommend LFF highly enough or being a member of Super Troopers, a supportive and positive group.

Tricia,
First let me say how beautiful you are inside and out. I love your Tea Time and all your makeovers. You are always so optimistic even when it is difficult. I live in Michigan, USA and times are very difficult right now. I am 74, laid off from my job of almost 21 years and have still not got my unemployment in over 10 weeks. So to say things are difficult is putting it mildly. I was feeling down, not seeing my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren but your up beat attitude and encouragement has made me want to get out, get dressed and put on my best face...even if it's just for me.
I loved your makeovers and those ladies are so beautiful. I really can't afford to purchase things but did anyway! I'm so anxious to try your eye cream, night cream and hydrating serum. I have loved all your products that I have tried, however, I'm still not that great with the eyebrow application. But it looks great when I do it correctly!
Thank you so much for making mature women feel their best and look their best. Please continue to work your magic.
Sincerely,
Ruth

I have been following the ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures on Tricia’s S T Facebook and have been amazed at the transformation of everyone without exception. It was so clear and impressive to see the changes in complexion, eyes and lips and confidence again and again. Congratulations to everyone brave enough to post a bare-faced selfie and confident enough afterwards to show themselves looking great.
I am an enthusiastic customer of LFF and am now wearing my make up every day instead of just for going out!
Thank you Tricia for your fabulous daily ‘tea at the Ritz’ chats. It was like meeting up with a friend every afternoon.....with the added advantage that if I missed that appointment I could still see you later on YouTube!
I loved your conversation on the Act3 zoom which again was so genuine and open and inspiring.

Dear Tricia
These photos are amazing and give hope for us all!
I am the same age as you, but looked like the eldest lady in that group!
I have sun damaged wrinkled skin which is very sensitive, together with red veins and rosacea.
I have been wearing E.L.Double Wear for years and realise it is too heavy for me. But what else?
Until I was recommended to view LFF...
The Cover Foundation did not suit my skin so I have been wearing the Beaty Balm plus Concealer where extra cover is necessary. Over Face Prime.
The trouble is I need the Concealer all over my face every day!
Is it possible to achieve a more flawless(!) look without the heaviness of Double Wear?
I like all the other products I have purchased and have so enjoyed all the videos on make up advice.
You look amazing! I have no daughters to advise me!
Lockdown would have been even worse without your informative, fun videos, so thank you so much
With best wishes
Gilly

Congratulations to the winners of the makeover comp, very well deserved. I would also like to thank you Tricia for giving us Super Troopers and Tea at the Ritz. It has invigorated me 'meeting' all these delightful ladies and made lockdown a lot more bearable. We are not invisible, we are wise, fun, talented, relevant and yes we are worth it (sorry for the using the catchphrase of another make-up brand
