This is all great advice, which I have been using since first discovering your web site 2 years ago. For me it all started after I'd had a professional make up for my 2nd marriage in 2016. I couldn't believe how the lady had improved my total look! So, I started searching You Tube for make up hints and found your web site, watched most of your videos and bought most of the products suggested for my cool skin. I now try and make up every day, whatever I'm doing. It makes me feel nice, and I look nice. I'm 69 this year, and yes, my skin is aging fast, but I dont ' look ' 69 , or act 69, so thankyou for my daily make over. xx

I'm glad you have discovered make-up Louis, I certainly wouldn't be without mine. Your comment about not 'looking or acting 69' intrigues me. I think you are saying that you feel and look different from what society seems to expect of a woman of that age. This is the concept that we have to challenge and Tricia has often written about it. I was once described by a Consultant, in his letter to my GP, as 'looking slightly younger than her age' - what a nerve! He may well have thought he was paying me a compliment but far from it; I found it patronising and totally inappropriate. In the Saga magazine there is a feature that involves interviewing an older celebrity and concluding that he or she is 'only (the actual age minus at least 10 years)in his/her head'. This has been annoying me for years - I really must take it up with them - but illustrates the problem so well. There is a clear message that younger is somehow 'better' and in a magazine for the over 50's no less. Grumble over, keep enjoying looking and feeling good no matter what your age!

Keep the tips coming Tricia! Love watching them. I visited your store earlier this month and so enjoyed my makeover. Today I will be getting ready using the trio shadow (cool tones) with my other LFF make up. My Granddaughter told me the other day ' your skin looks so smooth' which was the best compliment!

I’ve been reading your blogs for sometime now and I am still frightened by makeup. I hear the voices of parents and grandparents suggesting that those who wear too much makeup are “Trollopes and no better than they should be” My husband also has that attitude but our daughters do wear makeup, and really quite well, and when I challenged him about whether he thought they wore too much he didn’t know. Although my mother did wear a little makeup it would only be a foundation and a little streak of eyeshadow and she never attempted to encourage my sister and I to wear makeup so I tended to only moisturise and only for my wedding day did I have a professional makeup lesson the night before. So today, Mothering Sunday, I read your blog as usual and watched the video about hooded eyes and suddenly understood that I had hooded eyes so maybe I will try to follow the steps shown. But I would like to comment that one problem I have - after the psychological baggage- is that I can’t remember the brush numbers would it be possible to have the numbers embossed on to the brushes it would be so helpful. Whilst watching the video I did find the makeup artists hand got in the way such a lot, is there a better camera angle or should I just expand the screensize(that has just occurred to me, I was watching on my phone). I am also very short sighted so applying makeup when you can struggle to see also gives me a problem, will a magnifying mirror really get over that. Let’s hope I can be brave enough to try this today. Thanks for reading this

Hi Jennie Beliefs that other people hold in relation to our behaviour are very challenging, especially if we have been brought up to conform to those views. So I absolutely understand why you find makeup a difficult subject. I'm not sure I can help you with that other than to encourage you to decide what you would give you pleasure. And if that includes wearing a bit of makeup then i have the following suggestions. Try watching the videos of me applying my own makeup for some tips - I am looking directly into the camera on my computer so you can see quite clearly what I am doing. As to the brushes - our 8 brushes are all very different - so when you want to apply something ask yourself 'which of these will help me the most with this application?' I have made a short video about brushes - so do watch that too! I can't help with the eyesight issue apart from discussing it with your optician for any ideas or suggestions. I find that I now need really good strong daylight to be able to see clearly when applying my makeup. Triciax

Congratulations on keeping your pop up shop going. I came to visit with a friend who was having a makeover a couple of weeks ago. It was such a friendly, welcoming place. If anyone is feeling nervous about visiting I’d reassure them and say go ahead. It was such a fun experience. The make up artist, Hilary, was expert and encouraging and the end result was lovely. We came into London as we live in Milton Keynes,so it was a day out with lunch, but absolutely worth it.
