Interesting read as usual Tricia. I find that 'feasts and famines' describes my life at the moment. I'm busy making lists of things to take on a Med cruise, leaving from Palma in Majorca on 02 Aug. Paul decided last year that he didn't want an airport experience any more and was more than happy to spend holidays in the UK. I'm not of the same mind, so when my daughter and grandchildren invited me to join them on a cruise holiday I jumped at the chance. Can't wait. I've just had a weekend in Yorkshire, my Motherland, which was wonderful. Again Paul didn't want to go with me as I was attending a reunion of someone I'd worked for 50 years ago, so he wouldn't know anyone. Also, as you may have read on the TST page, he is being treated for Myeloma so has weekly hospital visits to Shrewsbury. He's doing well - no serious side effects - so we can still do trips in our Hobbit House, albeit short ones and not too far away from home. I love having time to potter in the garden, no agenda for the day. Then after a while I'm bored and need some stimulus. I don't respond well to pressure so I'm a planner rather than a spur of the moment person, hence all the lists I do! Enjoy your time in Italy. It looks idyllic from the photo. After your holiday you'll be ready to wind yourself up again!

The week you’ve just described was full on! I smiled when you describe lerici chateau : it is I think a fortress maybe even a castello! I am fortunate to have been there many times but now only travel there by small boat as driving and parking is a nightmare. Enjoy yourself and take a trip along the cinqua terra to portofino where the silly rich hangout. You can take a train and visit all the little fishing villages but I know it’s very hot there so maybe the suggestion of a boat trip might be more comfortable.

Enjoy your holiday Tricia. I love Italy and have many happy memories of holidays spent in various regions over the years. What a treat to wake up each morning to such a wonderful view. I bet it leaves you beaming from ear to ear and I look forward to seeing your interpretation in water colours! xx
