Hi there I would be grateful if you would share the link https://www.waspi.co.uk/ which highlights the plight of women born in the fifties affected by the change in the retirement age. Many thanks Jacky

Hello Tricia, I look forward to coffee time every Sunday morning when I read your weekly blogs, they are always interesting and on subjects we all face at some in our life. It is so encouraging to hear about the wonderful women who have challenged this myth that you retire and look after the grandchildren as much as you love them, we still have a life! We need to keep going with our passions and interests for as long as we are physically able. So keep going all you lovely ladies out there!

As always, Sunday morning coffee time means reading Tricia's Blog. I look forward to it and it always gives me food for thought. I love the Tricia talks, especially all the ones mentioned here by our members. What inspiring women they are and I must admit, leave me feeling quite inadequate and talentless!! Renaissance.... what an excellent word. I think that's me. When I reached 70, 6 years ago, I had come through a very difficult decade of nursing and finally losing my husband and dear Mum within a short time. I decided that this now had to be my time. I took myself in hand. I look and feel much better. I am involved in a number of interesting societies and groups, have 10 grandchildren who I adore and lots of friends. I also started to learn Ballroom and Latin dancing and I absolutely love it! What has given me the most excitement is my love of travel. I have had so many adventures, travelling solo, making many new friends and seen wonderful places I shall never forget. Life is good...or hopefully it will be when we are all back to normal. Yes. Renaissance is a good word!

Another great blog Tricia and it has certainly stimulated a variety of responses! I will be ‘retiring’ at the end of June having enjoyed a 34 year career with lots of life experiences along the way and worked with amazing and talented people. While in many ways it has been a big part of my identity, I am getting very excited and looking forward to new possibilities and freedoms and the word ‘retirement’ itself doesn’t really bother me. No doubt it will be a transition but one I approach with an open mind and it is great to hear about the wide range of interests of the Super Troopers - such an inspirational group of women! Fiona x

So many inspirational women. I decided when I retired I would like to give something back and have volunteered with the National Trust since 2010. I love the house and the people I work with are fantastic, I have made many new friends. It’s really interesting as our volunteers come from all walks of life, but all have a shared passion. The visitors are a joy and I get such pleasure from explaining how people lived in the past. Keep up the fantastic work Tricia xx
