I both agree and disagree. I had a confidence-sapping childhood and I was treated as plain and unlovely. I am now 75 and I have gained throughout my life a certain happiness and confidence. I do now and then have Botox and fillers and it does help with how I view myself. Is it so different from having highlights in the hair or wearing LFF’s lovely makeup? Along with plenty of vegetables and regular exercise, ‘tweaks’ are part of my life. Ageism is a fraught subject. Ageism has certain biological roots. We do have receding physical and mental capacities. Old-age IS one step from death. This is the underlying reality. Personally I do not celebrate or denigrate old age. Enjoy every stage as much as possible.

100% with you, Tricia. I’m in the “growing old gracefully”(or disgracefully, ha ha) gang....embracing our age with joy, hope, laughter, respect and love. Onwards and upwards....KBO. xx Whilst writing and on a lighter, joyful note, I’d also like to share with you a most Fab-u-lous dvd that I watched last eve - The Last Letter From Your Lover” based on the best-selling novel by JoJo Moyes. It was so amazing, that I’m going to watch it again tonight. Highly recommend.

Just read your blog ‘who I am ‘ and strongly agree with everything in it, Tricia. Please keep promoting your philosophy of ageing for women and thank you for the lovely makeup and skincare so suited to my ageing 71 year old face. Suzanne

Hear hear! Well said. Too many people shame 'life lines'. They show we are interesting women!
